Today a wonderful compilation is available for preorder from Mailbox label & I am proud to appear one of the tracks with Brazilian artist Rodrigo Stradiotto. Last year Rodrigo asked to use one of my vocal loops to put through his modular synth. My instincts said yes, and he went off to create a very special track that we called Noctilucent. I was determined to find a good home for the track, and so I reached out to James at UK label Mailbox because I knew he was putting together a compilation to raise money & awareness for UK charity Refuge. Thankfully, James squeezed our track in at the last minute and we are thrilled to now be part of this release with some other wonderful artists including Patricia Wolf, zakè, JARR (Jon from Yellow 6), Lucy Liyou, Ryefield Society and many more.
The compilation Music for Another Sky is available through Bandcamp. 100% of proceeds from sales will be donated to Refuge to help protect women and young girls from domestic violence. Domestic violence has increased globally by nearly 30%, according to the UN; this is due in no small part to the government lockdowns brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic. Victims often now find themselves under constant surveillance by their abuser where phones are regularly checked and/or confiscated, making it harder than ever to call or text for help.
Noctilucent was played on KEXP a few days before on the Pacific Notions show by DJ Alex along with other tracks to preview the release. Big thanks to DJ Alex & KEXP ❤️ I hope you can support the cause and in turn, you’ll receive some beautiful music that has been donated by artists from all around the world especially for this release.
